Ka piripono mātou ki ngā uara o te honohono, auahatanga, me te penapena hei tautoko i tō mātou whāinga ki te pupuri, te whakawātea me te tiaki i ngā taonga oro, ataata hoki o Aotearoa. Ka whakatairanga tā mātou kaupapa i ngā mātāpono o te Tiriti o Waitangi, ka whakaata hoki i te tirohanga a te Māori me te Pākehā, ngā reo e rua me ngā tūmanako. Ka arataki hoki i ngā mahinga tahitanga, tetahi ki tētahi, tae rawa atu ki ngā mahi me ngā taonga ataata me ngā taonga oro me te hunga whai pānga mai.

Ko te mahi a te Takawaenga ā-Iwi Reo Motuhake he tuku i ngā ratonga mō te whakarārangi, mō te aheinga kia toro ki ngā kohikohinga, mō te rangahau hoki, ko ēnei kaupapa katoa ka mahia kia rite, kia kounga teitei kia rite ki ngā mātāpono o te tiaki pūranga, kia hāngai pū ki
te kaupapa, kia manako nui hoki ki te mahi pai me te hunga tērā ka pā mai. Ko te huarahi kia eke ki te pai i tēnei tūranga, ko te pakari o ngā ratonga me te pai o ngā whakawhitiwhitinga me te hunga whai pānga o waho, o roto hoki.

The Takawaenga a-iwi Reo Motuhake - Client Access Liaison Māori Specialist will contribute to the following strategic outcomes:
  • Increase the discoverability of the collections: catalogue audiovisual items in te reo Māori in line with archival standards and te reo Māori cataloguing standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service: deliver research about and access to the collection to third parties, including iwi, the heritage sector, the broadcast and production community.
  • Support iwi engagement: support the Pou Arahi with iwi engagement and other processes; and provide iwi with information about and access to their collections.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification or relevant experience
  • Fluency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga to Level 3 LFE or above
  • 3 to 5 years experience with computer-based collection management systems.
  • 1 to 3 years customer service experience
  • An understanding of archival ethos, practice and standards
  • Experience working with iwi and Māori communities
  • A high level of personal motivation, initiative and adaptability
  • The ability to think innovatively, independently and as part of a team
